* This course is for intermediate to advanced lyre players and for lyres of any type with at least 7 strings. It is highly recommended to first complete the beginner courses 101, 102 and 103, along with all core lessons (both beginner and intermediate) available also at LyreAcademy.

* Do you own a lyre with more strings? The course can be done by students with a lyre or a kithara with 7 or more strings. Simple and step-by-step videos are available to prepare your lyre for the courses (including tuning).

Lesson 1 : How to play “Nothing else matters”

In this lesson, we are going to learn step by step "Nothing else matters" by Metallica by using both our hands and applying several rhythmic values.

Lesson 2 : How to play “Dust in the wind”

Let's learn how to play a slightly more demanding melody, "Dust in the wind" by Kansas. We are going to play with two hands, while using quavers / eighth notes and harmonics!

Lesson 3 : How to play “What a wonderful world”

We will keep increasing the complexity in our lyre playing while learning how to play "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong. We are going to play with two hands, while applying dotted notes, harmonics and quavers / eighth notes.

Lesson 4 : How to play “The Godfather” theme song

In this course, we are going to have a first encounter with the "sharpen / semitone raising" technique in order to be able to play "The Godfather" theme song! Once again, we are going to play with two hands, and also apply harmonics.

Lesson 5 : How to play “Stand by me”

Let's boost our lyre playing confidence in this lesson by learning an easy but well-known tune. No matter if you prefer the original by Ben E. King or the latter performance by John Lennon, this is a step by step lesson on how to play "Stand by me" on a lyre.

Lesson 6 : How to play “My heart will go on”

It is time to further practice your skills with harmonic notes, while playing several rhythmic values (like eighth and sixteenth notes)! This is a step by step guide on how to play "My heart will go on". Don't hesitate to take my advice and try to sign it along too!

Lesson 7 : How to play “Game of Thrones” theme song

Are you ready for a challenge? In order to play "Game of Thrones" theme song, we are going to combine quavers / eighth notes, harmonics, sharpen / semitone raising and chords playing. This is a step by step lesson for a quite demanding but highly rewarding famous tune.

Lesson 8 : How to play “Star Wars” theme song

The meaning is not stop evolving, and "Star Wars" theme song is what we need to do exactly that! Triple notes, sharpen / raising semitone, quavers / eighth notes, sixteenth notes, and harmonics. Master this melody, and you are one step closer to consider yourself an advanced lyre player.
