Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Please read these Terms carefully, and contact us if you have any questions. By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, including the policies referenced in these Terms.

Who May Use Our Services

You may use our Services only if you can form a binding contract with LyreAcademy (also called "academy" on this website) and only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws. When you create your LyreAcademy account and when you use our services, you must provide us with accurate/complete information, and you agree to update your information to keep it accurate/complete. Any use or access by anyone under the age of 13 without parental supervision is prohibited.

Our License to You

Subject to these Terms and our policies, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use our Services. You may access content from our Services only for your personal, non-commercial use. LyreAcademy does not grant any form of permission (written or oral) to otherwise use the content. You also agree that you will not share access to or access information for your account with any third party. Using our Services does not give you ownership of any intellectual property rights in our Services or the content you access.

Our Courses / Certificates

LyreAcademy offers courses and content from individual instructors (also called "Content Providers"). We seek to provide top-class courses and content, but unexpected events might occur. Our academy has the right to cancel, interrupt, reschedule , or modify any course / content.

Unless otherwise explicitly indicated, participation in or completion of a course does not confer any academic credit. Even if certificates are awarded by LyreAcademy or another institution, there is no presumption that other academies or institutions will accept that credit. You agree not to accept a certificate for completing a course unless you actually completed the course. LyreAcademy, and the instructors have no obligation to provide courses recognized by any educational institution or accreditation organization.

Initial payments / Recurring subscription fees

Each course or semester is considered to be a membership in the sense that it gives access to exclusive premium content only to its members. In every membership, there is always a small recurring subscription fee to ensure that you still have access to the content you want for as many months as you need. This also means that after the initial period of time (3, 6, 8, or 12 months, depending on your course or semester, meaning 90, 180, 240, and 365 calendar days, respectively), your bank is going to charge you automatically. To avoid the latter, you have to manually cancel your membership by visiting this page.

Be careful, though, as the moment you cancel your membership, you will lose access to the course/semester. So, in brief, when you cancel a subscription: a. You lose access to all the lessons of that particular course or semester, and b. You ensure that you will not be charged by your bank for that particular course or semester again (no recurring fees anymore)!

There is an initial payment for each course or semester, which grants you immediate access to the whole educational material (all the lessons, videos, handouts, supplementary audio, etc.). Therefore, there can be no refunds for any initial payment.

Suitable musical instruments for the courses

Students can follow the courses with a lyre or a kithara with seven or more strings. Simple and step-by-step videos, including tuning, are available to prepare the lyre or the kithara for the classes. More specifically, every lyre or kithara must have seven (7) strings in a row that can be tuned like this G, A, B, C, D, E, and F. All these seven (7) strings must be accessible by both hands. What's more, the quality of the strings (metallic, nylon, sugarcane, and gut strings) can significantly alter a student's learning experience, as some (metallic and nylon) are harder to cope with and more challenging to use different playing techniques such as harmonics. Every student has to check the above before enrolling in one of the Academy's courses or course bundles.
