This semester is for those willing to start a tutoring career, i.e., teaching the lyre to beginners, intermediate, and advanced students.
The courses included in this semester are for competent lyre players, preferably for (but not restricted to) graduates of the academy's Full Year of Studies curriculum.
At the end of this semester
you will know how to:
- Teach your students all the basics: holding the lyre, tuning it, changing tonalities
- Teach all the playing techniques: harmonics, finger-playing, plectrum, chords, sharp-pressing, and more
- Use both tablatures and music sheets in your lessons
- Harmonize and adapt melodies for the lyre
- Teach basic ancient Greek rhythms
- Teach nine ancient melodies, including Seikilos Epitaph, Hurrian Hymn, and 2nd Delphic Hymn
- Teach dozens of modern songs, including Metallica, Amélie, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Jazz songs, Manos Hadjidakis' compositions, and more
